Job summary

Weflex is seeking a Paving Labourer / Assistant Paver to support an experienced paver on outdoor infrastructure projects in the Barneveld region, Netherlands.

You will prepare ground, move materials, assist with setting out levels, cut and lay paving stones, and help position manholes and kerbs. This is a practical, daytime role with regular hours and opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, paving, landscaping or a similar role is advantageous.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Willing to learn and develop paving skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the ground and work area before paving starts.
• Bringing paving stones, tiles and other materials to the work area.
• Assisting with setting out the correct levels, heights and lines.
• Cutting, grinding and sawing paving stones and tiles to size.
• Assisting with laying paving stones and tiles.
• Positioning manholes, kerbs and edge restraints
• Compacting newly installed paving and spreading sand in joints
• Keeping tools and materials organized and safe
• Supporting the paver and team with paving activities

Job description

As a Paving Labourer / Assistant Paver, you will support an experienced paver on different paving and infrastructure projects. You will help prepare the ground, bring paving stones and tiles to the work area and assist with setting out the correct levels and heights.

During the paving work, you will cut and prepare stones and tiles and help with laying the paving. You will also assist with positioning manholes and kerbs, compacting the finished paving and spreading sand into the joints.

You will work outdoors at different locations and help keep the tools, materials and work area organised and safe.

• Assisting with setting out the correct levels, heights and lines
• Cutting, grinding and sawing paving stones and tiles to size
• Assisting with laying paving stones and tiles
• Helping position manholes, kerbs and edge restraints
• Compacting newly installed paving
• Spreading sand into the joints between the paving
• Keeping tools, materials and the work area organised and safe
• Supporting the paver and the rest of the team with general paving activities

About the role

You will work on different paving and infrastructure projects in the Barneveld region. This is a practical outdoor position with different work locations and regular daytime working hours.

You will work between 40 and 50 hours per week. You will work closely with an experienced paver and the rest of the team, giving you the opportunity to gain practical experience and further develop your paving and construction skills.

• Previous experience in construction, paving, landscaping or a similar role is an advantage
• You have a valid Category B driving licence
• You have good English communication skills
• You are physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• You are willing to work up to 50 hours per week
