Job description

Duration of the Internship: 4 to 6 months

Who we are:

We are a technology company from Delft (NL), engineering coating, solar and sensor solutions for the global energy transition. Across all these solutions, we consistently aim to change the perspective on how current materials are used and implemented, as well as challenging the system innovation behind them.

PAR+ is on a mission to increase yield inside greenhouses in a sustainable manner with a revolutionary coating. These past years, we have executed different pilots and achieved positive results on crop quality and crop growth. By making the light diffuse, we can increase the yield of a greenhouse by as much as 6 - 8% annually, with a lifetime for at least 8 years.

We develop coatings that exhibit excellent optical, chemical, and physical properties but we are also aiming at developing our own methods to measure the exact light conditions in greenhouses in an affordable way for most growers. We are already have a concept design about how we plan on achieving it but we are on the lookout for someone with good programming and lab skills to help us build and test the first prototypes.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Hands on testing and assembling optical components
  • Developing and test imaging processing software tools to evaluate the accuracy and precision of different system configurations with regards to its costs.
  • Participate in industrial collaboration to evaluate alternative materials and/or application.
Who we’re looking for:
  • You are approaching the end of a Bachelor’s or you are enrolled in a Master’s degree or freshly graduated in a technical oriented education, such as (but not limited to) applied physics, chemistry, and material science.
  • You have experience with optics, image processing or photography.
  • You are fluent with English (both written and verbally).
  • Experience with computer vision or image processing techniques is a plus.
  • You live In the Netherlands
