Job summary

GenomeScan seeks a Team Leader Laboratory Support to drive projects and improve services within the lab. You will supervise the Automation team, Senior Specialist NGS, and Lab Facility Officer, guiding planning, execution, and reporting of analyses, SOPs and workflows.

You hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences or Molecular Biology (PhD preferred) and 2–3 years of line management experience in molecular labs. On-site Leiden is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in Life Sciences or Molecular Biology.
• 2–3 years of line management experience with coaching.
• Experience managing multiple technically complex projects.
• Experience in molecular genetics or research; familiarity with automated platforms.
• Hands-on lab work and willingness to be on-site in Leiden.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects to improve current services and implement new lab services.
• Oversee lab infrastructure, including robotized systems and software like LIMS.
• Supervise and coach Automation team, Senior Specialist NGS, and Lab Facility Officer.
• Plan and perform validations of new or improved workflows.
• Maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
