Job summary

TNO invites motivated students for an internship focused on neurosymbolic AI for greenhouse knowledge preservation and exploitation. You will collaborate with a team of scientists and industry partners, developing co-learning modules and translating results into theses or articles.

The role emphasizes curiosity, proactive learning, and hands-on coding with modern AI tools, including ontologies and knowledge graphs, in a high-tech greenhouse context.

Qualifications

• Background in AI and/or computer science with interest in neurosymbolic AI techniques combining ontologies and knowledge graphs with large language models.
• Interest in coding and motivation to improve coding skills.
• Familiarity with Git and GitLab or GitHub is helpful, and the team will support learning in areas the candidate wants to develop.

Responsibilities

• Develop a co-learning module using neurosymbolic AI techniques and research methods to address the main research question.
• Define concrete research subquestions, design and run experiments, and translate findings into a graduation thesis report and/or academic article.
• Collaborate with a team of TNO scientists and industry partners to advance the system in the greenhouse domain.
