Job summary

Schuberg Philis is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to design, implement and operate mission-critical networks across on-premises and public cloud environments. You will own network layers end-to-end and drive automation using IaC, with a focus on availability, security and scalability.

The role involves Kubernetes networking, CI/CD automation, and collaborations across teams to maintain and improve customer environments, both on-prem and in the cloud.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Network Engineer in high-availability environments.
• Hands-on experience with automation and IaC.
• Experience with public cloud networking and on-premises integration.
• Familiarity with network security tooling and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable networks across on-premises and public cloud environments (e.g. Azure).
• Automate and template network configurations (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform, Chef, and Ansible.
• Troubleshoot and remediate performance or security challenges across multifaceted network landscapes.
• Manage and optimize logical and virtual networking solutions, including SDN and VMware NSX.
• Integrate and manage IPAM and IAM solutions, supporting an efficient and secure network environment.
• Participate in Kubernetes networking, CI/CD automation, GitLab/GitOps workflows.
• Prepare and support change planning, security incidents, audits and continuous network improvement.
• Work on greenfield projects, from architecture to hands-on building and continuous development.

What will you be doing?

As a Network Automation Engineer, these activities will be part of your responsibility:

• Architect, design, build and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable networks across on-premises and public cloud environments (e.g. Azure);

• Integrate and manage IPAM (preferably Nautobot or Netbox) and IAM solutions, supporting an efficient and secure network environment;
• Participate in Kubernetes networking, CI/CD automation, GitLab/GitOps workflows;
• Prepare and support change planning, security incidents, audits and continuous network improvement;
• Work on greenfield projects, with responsibility ranging from architecture to hands-on building and continuous development.

What do you need to be successful?

Our ideal candidate looks like this:

• Proven track record as a Network Engineer in high-availability environments;
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remediate complex network and security issues;
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, and/or Extreme Networks;
• Expertise with F5, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto;
• Experience with automation and Infra as Code, like Terraform, Ansible, Chef;
• Familiarity with public cloud networking (Azure) and integrating with on-premises environments.
