Job summary

Kyndryl is hiring an experienced Allround Engineer FMN Interoperability & Integration in the Netherlands to build interoperable mission networks in line with NATO FMN Spiral 4–6. You will work in a small team on operational federation, standardized Core Services, and secure data exchange between national and international defense networks.

Qualifications

• Experience as Allround Engineer or System Integrator in distributed IT environments.
• Strong knowledge of IP networks (BGP, OSPF, VPNs, DNS).
• Experience with system integration across boundaries (organizational and security).
• Knowledge of federated identity concepts (PKI, SAML, OAuth).
• Cybersecurity principles in multi-domain environments.
• Experience with virtualization or container platforms.
• Ability to analyze failures across network, infrastructure and service layers.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support FMN Core Services, including networking, identity, collaboration, service management and secure data exchange.
• Realize interoperability between national systems using standardized interfaces/protocols.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, firewalls and secure gateways within federated environments.
• Carry out integration, verification and validation activities and participate in interoperability testing (CWIX).
• Implement federated identity and access management and support secure data exchange.
• Collaborate with national and international stakeholders to resolve interoperability issues.
• Prepare technical documentation per FMN governance, including test designs/results and compliance evidence.
• Serve as technical engineer and coordination point during integration and testing activities.
• Keep knowledge up-to-date on FMN standards, Spiral Specifications and interoperability patterns.

Als Allround Engineer FMN Interoperability & Integration draag je bij aan de realisatie van interoperabele missie‑netwerken conform NATO Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Spiral 4–6. Je werkt als onderdeel van een klein team aan operationele federatie, gestandaardiseerde Core Services en veilige informatie‑uitwisseling tussen nationale en internationale defensienetwerken. Je combineert hands‑on engineering met technische coördinatie en werkt samen met nationale en internationale stakeholders aan de integratie, validatie en doorontwikkeling van FMN‑oplossingen.

Your Responsibilities

• Implementeren en ondersteunen van FMN Core Services, waaronder networking, identity, collaboration, service management en veilige informatie‑uitwisseling.
• Realiseren van interoperabiliteit tussen nationale systemen met behulp van gestandaardiseerde interfaces en protocollen.
• Configureren, beheren en troubleshooten van routing, switching, VPN's, DNS, firewalls en secure gateways binnen federatieve omgevingen.
• Uitvoeren van integratie‑, verificatie‑ en validatieactiviteiten en deelnemen aan interoperabiliteitstesten, zoals CWIX.
• Implementeren van federated identity & access management en ondersteunen van veilige informatie‑uitwisseling.
• Samenwerken met nationale en internationale stakeholders om interoperabiliteitsvraagstukken op te lossen.
• Opstellen van technische documentatie conform FMN‑governance, waaronder test designs, testresultaten en compliance‑evidence.
• Fungeren als technisch engineer én coördinatiepunt tijdens integratie‑ en testactiviteiten.
• Actueel houden van kennis over FMN‑standaarden, Spiral Specifications en interoperabiliteitspatronen.

Waar ga je werken?

Je werkt binnen één van de grootste IT‑programma's van Nederland voor onze klant. Afhankelijk van het project werk je op klantlocaties in Midden‑Nederland, vanuit huis en regelmatig vanuit het Kyndryl‑kantoor in Hoofddorp. Voor deze opdracht is een Nederlands paspoort vereist en beheers je het Nederlands in woord en geschrift. Je doorloopt een veiligheidsonderzoek (VGB), uitgevoerd door de MIVD. Daarnaast is een NAVO‑veiligheidsmachtiging op minimaal het niveau NATO Secret vereist. Kyndryl begeleidt je bij beide trajecten.

Een bruto maandsalaris van €7.400 tot €8.100, op basis van veertien maanden. Inclusief vakantiegeld en dertiende maand komt dat neer op €103.600 tot €113.400 bruto per jaar.

Je bent een ervaren netwerk- of infrastructuuringenieur die technische diepgang combineert met een samenwerkingsgerichte instelling. Je opereert effectief binnen complexe, multinationale IT‑omgevingen en krijgt energie van interoperabiliteit, integratie, en missie‑kritische infrastructuren.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Ervaring als Allround Engineer of System Integrator binnen complexe, gedistribueerde IT‑omgevingen.
• Grondige kennis van IP‑netwerken, waaronder BGP, OSPF, VPN's, firewalls en DNS.
• Ervaring met systeemintegratie over organisatorische en security boundaries.
• Kennis van federated identity‑concepten, zoals PKI, SAML, OAuth en veilige toegangscontrole.
• Kennis van cybersecurityprincipes binnen multi‑domain omgevingen.
• Ervaring met virtualisatie‑en/of containerplatformen.
• Vermogen om storingen te analyseren over netwerk‑, infrastructuur‑ en servicelagen.
• Ervaring met Agile, DevOps of vergelijkbare werkwijzen.
• Bereidheid om internationaal te reizen voor interoperabiliteitstesten en oefeningen.
• Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en goede beheersing van de Engelse taal.

Gewenste technische en professionele ervaring

• Ervaring met NATO FMN Spiral Specifications of vergelijkbare interoperabiliteitsframeworks.
• Ervaring binnen Defensie, de overheid of andere sterk gereguleerde organisaties.

• Relevante certificeringen, zoals CCNP, Security+ of CISSP.
