Job summary

Abbott is seeking an experienced Head of Maintenance & Automation to lead maintenance, reliability, and automation strategy across Weesp and Olst in the Netherlands. You will drive asset reliability, lifecycle planning, and OT initiatives while guiding multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated environment.

The role offers exposure to senior leadership, shaping site strategy, and opportunities for growth toward divisional technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in Maintenance, Reliability, Manufacturing Automation, or Technical Operations.
• Proven success leading large technical organizations across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Strong expertise in reliability engineering and preventive & predictive maintenance.
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing automation systems and OT.
• Demonstrated success improving equipment reliability, uptime, and performance.
• Experience supporting capital projects and asset lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the maintenance, reliability, and automation strategy across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Lead the Maintenance and Manufacturing Automation organizations, building a high-performing workforce.
• Drive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve uptime and reliability.
• Own the asset lifecycle strategy, including renewal plans and long-term investment roadmaps.
• Lead OT initiatives, ensure systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
• Define and govern automation standards, cybersecurity strategies, and architecture frameworks.
• Partner with Engineering and Operations on capital projects from design to commissioning.
• Establish KPI frameworks and use data-driven insights to improve performance and cost efficiency.
• Foster safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
