Job summary

N-Sea Group is seeking a Mobilisation Technical Superintendent to oversee the outfitting and operational readiness of cable lay and related equipment on offshore vessels. You will plan and supervise maintenance execution, ensuring timely delivery and safety in a fast-paced maritime setting.

The role requires a higher engineering degree and 5 years in vessel outfitting or maintenance, with strong planning, communication, and English language skills. On-site in IJmuiden with international travel.

Qualifications

  • Higher professional degree in mechanical, electrical, or maritime engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vessel outfitting and maintenance of cable/auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience in offshore/marine environments preferred.
  • Strong technical/mechanical construction skills.
  • Good planning and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in maintenance software and MS Office.
  • English language proficiency; valid driver’s license B.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and supervise outfitting and readiness of N-Sea equipment on offshore vessels.
  • Ensure safe, reliable operations of cable lay and auxiliary equipment offshore and onshore.
  • Lead maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities at onshore facilities.
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Act as technical liaison between operators and suppliers to troubleshoot issues.
  • Drive continuous improvements in mobilisation and asset management.

Are you experienced with the dynamic execution management environment of equipment mobilisations, operational readiness, maintenance execution, and technical integrity warehouses, stores and inventories in an offshore or maritime setting? N-Sea is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Mobilisation Technical Superintendent to join our team in IJmuiden.

As a Mobilisation Technical Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness and flawless delivery of cable lay, ROV and/or survey equipment out-fitting on offshore vessels, as well as the planning, execution and oversight over the maintenance execution and equipment availability of cable lay and auxiliary equipment.

Key responsibilities

The Mobilisation Technical Superintendent is responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective and efficient planning, preparation, execution & supervision of N-Sea equipment outfitting and operations readiness on offshore vessels, supporting the N-Sea project mobilisation teams
  • Ensuring effective, efficient, reliable and safe operations of the N-Sea asset cable lay and auxiliary equipment offshore & onshore

The main duties associated with the role include but are not limited to:

  • First Time flawless execution of N-Sea vessel outfitting with N-Sea assets
  • Preparation of Cable Lay and Auxiliary equipment pre-mobilisation
  • Execution and supervision of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (M&R) activities for N-Sea cable lay and auxiliary equipment at N-Sea onshore facilities
  • Implement and oversee preventive maintenance plans and schedules for cable lay and auxiliary equipment
  • Manage availability, reliability and readiness of on and offshore (critical) spare parts, inventory and tooling
  • Act as the primary shore-based technical contact between cable & auxiliary equipment operators and suppliers to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
  • Manage cable & auxiliary equipment reliability and perform root-cause analysis on system failures and implement technical improvements across the equipment
  • Perform equipment post-operations inspection activities
  • Review technical and financial reports, asset logs, and post-project asset de-mobilisation data
  • Effectively liaise and manage stakeholders from various departments as needed. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of tasks to support operational needs
  • Identification and driving continuous improvements in relation to mobilisation, cable lays & auxiliary asset management in N-sea (where applicable)
  • Supporting / Stand-in for other asset related roles. E.g. Technical Manager, Mobilisation Lead, etc.
  • Always act as a Health, Safety and Environmental ambassador for N-Sea OSB
  • Enforce compliance with N-Sea Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and standards across all activities under your responsibility
Qualifications
  • Higher professional degree (or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, engineering, or equivalent maritime tech background
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in executing vessel out fitting and execution of maintenance of cable/auxiliary equipment in a mechanical and/or electrical technical execution role, preferably with supervisory experience
  • Work execution experience in offshore and/or marine environment
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical and construction disciplines
  • Strong work/project planning and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical fitness suitable for mobilisation and maintenance execution tasks
  • This is a full-time on-site operational role in IJmuiden (own transport required), with regular visits to Dordrecht. During mobilisations alternative locations (local & international) are common. This job requires occasional irregular hours and/or international travel
  • Professional working proficiency in English language (verbal, reading, writing)
  • Experienced driver with valid driver’s license – B
