Job summary

Doghouse Recruitment is partnering with a B2B SaaS company in Utrecht to scale a React Native mobile app into a standalone, mobile-first product. You will stay hands-on across React and Node.js on the web while shaping the mobile architecture and direction.

You’ll join an international team and collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver end-to-end features. The role is hybrid with a three‑day‑per‑week Utrecht office presence and English fluency required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full stack development across mobile, frontend, and backend.
• 2+ years building production apps in React Native.
• Strong with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Solid experience with REST APIs and databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.
• Comfortable owning features end to end across mobile and web.
• Fluent in English, based in the Netherlands, able to work from Utrecht three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across mobile and web, with half time on the React Native app.
• Lead the technical direction as the mobile app scales into a standalone product.
• Review pull requests and mentor fellow developers.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn ideas into features.
• Own features from idea through to deployment and success metrics.

Job description

My client is spinning its React Native app out into a fully independent, mobile-first product. They need a senior engineer to lead that mobile direction while staying hands-on across React and Node.js on the web.

My client is a B2B SaaS company in Utrecht building a modern HR platform for performance, development, and continuous feedback. Hundreds of companies use it, from scale-ups to established corporates, and the product has been growing since 2019. To support that growth the engineering team is expanding, and the React Native mobile app is being scaled into a fully independent experience for mobile-first markets. You join an international team of more than seven nationalities working in weekly sprints. The stack is TypeScript, React, React Native, Node.js, and MongoDB, with secure REST APIs and CI/CD.

What you’ll do

You build and ship features across mobile and web. Around half your time goes to the React Native app, where you lead the technical direction as it scales into a standalone product. The other half is the web platform, building interfaces in React and developing APIs and backend services in Node.js. You shape architecture decisions, especially around the mobile strategy, review pull requests, and mentor fellow developers. You work closely with product managers and designers to turn ideas into features customers actually use, and you own those features from idea through to deployment.

What’s in it for you
