Job summary

Van Straaten is seeking a Medior IT Workflow & Integration Engineer for our Schiphol-area operations. You will manage and optimize cross-system workflows, and develop integrations between servers, databases, printers, and automation engines in a busy production environment.

You will work closely with prepress, production and IT teams to translate requirements into scalable automation, monitoring performance and ensuring robust documentation and testing practices.

Qualifications

• Completed IT education at MBO or HBO level or equivalent working level.
• 2–5 years in a medior IT role.
• Proven experience with prepress automation software such as Esko Automation Engine, PrintFactory or Durst Workflow.
• Solid command of SQL and ability to read/write/optimize queries.
• Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Structured, accurate work style with testing and documentation.
• Clear communication; ability to explain technical topics to varied colleagues.
• Nice to have: prepress/print production knowledge, Synology NAS, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Designing, optimizing and managing existing workflows.
• Setting up, maintaining and improving integrations with servers, databases, printers and other systems.
• Writing, reading and optimizing SQL queries for data exchange, validation and reporting.
• Contributing to the architecture around Automation Engine and connected systems.
• Monitoring performance, stability and security of workflows and integrations.
• Analyzing and resolving incidents and recurring issues.
• Documenting workflows, integrations, configurations and decisions clearly.
• Collaborating with prepress, production, back office and IT to translate requirements into scalable automation solutions.
