Jet-Stream in Groningen is seeking a DevOps Engineer to build, maintain and improve the infrastructure powering two streaming platforms. You will automate deployments, provisioning, monitoring and recovery, while ensuring reliability in complex distributed systems across a hybrid environment.

The role requires 4+ years in DevOps and software development, with strong Python/Go skills and experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Every stream we deliver runs on infrastructure that someone has built, automated and made reliable. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys that work and makes our platform a little more robust, faster and smarter every day.

What we build

Jet-Stream has been a streaming pioneer for more than thirty years. We are now developing two new platforms at the same time:

Jet-Stream is a high-end media platform with multiple dynamic pipelines for live and on-demand video, with glass-to-glass monitoring. A professional custom media workflow that would take weeks or months to build in the cloud is set up here in minutes, on one central, standardised platform, instead of building custom solutions again and again and maintaining dozens of stacks side by side.

StreamZilla is our new VOD platform, built on the same foundations.

What you will do

You build, maintain and improve the infrastructure that both platforms run on. In practice:

• You automate everything that can be automated: deployments, provisioning, monitoring, recovery
• You build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• You safeguard reliability and performance and resolve incidents in complex distributed systems
• You take part in 24/7 operations and technical support for our B2B customers
• You work closely with the Tech Lead and a small team of streaming and development specialists.
• You migrate all customers to the new platform.

What you bring

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps and software development
• Good programming skills in Python and Go, for automation and backend work
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and building CI/CD pipelines
• Proven troubleshooting skills in high-traffic distributed systemsA feel for system performance and where the gains are
• Independent in your work, but a true team player
• Fluent Dutch and excellent English, spoken and written
• A background in streaming technology or content delivery
• Experience leading DevOps projects from start to finish
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting for high-availability services
• Experience with security best practices in cloud-native environments
• Knowledge of video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, CMAF, SRT, RTMP)

Requirements

• You speak fluent Dutch and have an excellent command of English
• You can provide a Dutch Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
