Position

We are looking for a Mechanical Field Engineer to join our team for the Porthos CO₂ Project, which involves the construction of a compression station to store CO₂ in an empty gas field in the North Sea.

The Mechanical Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical support or site engineering services to construction activities for the mechanical discipline.

He/She reports to the Field Engineering Manager at site and interfaces, when required, with the counterpart discipline engineer at the Home Office.

Responsibilities
  • Review project engineering documentation and manage any required modifications and/or additions, including the final preparation of “as-built” documentation to be submitted to Home Office Engineering.
  • Prepare site technical queries, including field sketches and modifications to project drawings.
  • Prepare construction documents related to the mechanical discipline, required for the execution of activities (e.g., method statements, lifting plans, test packs, temporary facilities layouts, site sketches, etc.).
  • Support the Field Engineering Manager in preparing documentation required for constructability studies.
  • Provide technical support to the Material Manager for material management related to the mechanical discipline.
  • Assist with inspections, when required, in support of the QA/QC team.
  • Ensure the continuous update of discipline-related information within the construction management systems used for project execution and monitoring.
  • Support supervisors in reading and interpreting technical drawings, vendor drawings, specifications, standards, and reports.
  • Continuously monitor construction progress, identifying issues arising from detailed engineering and defining/implementing the necessary modifications and adjustments.
  • Ensure an adequate standard of technical documentation and contribute to updating company standards.
  • Prepare technical queries and design changes.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Field Engineer in EPC projects within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong teamwork attitude with leadership, motivational, and technical skills.
  • Goal-oriented, determined, and committed to delivering high performance and meeting project deadlines.
  • Professional English.
