Job summary

ABS Cylinders BV in Veendam is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer (0-5 years' experience) to design and model hydraulic cylinders, prepare drawings and BOMs, and contribute to feasibility and cost discussions. You will interact with production, workshop staff, and client engineers to deliver real product solutions.

Qualifications

• HBO Mechanical Engineering degree
• 0–5 years' experience
• Experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred
• Practical and eager to learn
• Good communication

About ABS Cylinders We manufacture bespoke hydraulic cylinders in small batches for industrial and maritime applications. Craftsmanship, collaboration and reliability are at the heart of what we do. We have been working with customers, suppliers and colleagues for many years.

What will you do?

• Designing and modelling cylinders in SolidWorks
• Preparing drawings and bills of materials in the ERP system
• Contributing ideas on feasibility and costs
• Assistance with calculations
• Coordination with production and work planning

You’ll also be in contact with clients and their engineers, such as:

• Production line project engineers
• Equipment engineers in yacht building
• Hydraulics service engineers

You’ll develop greater independence in this area.

What are we asking for?

• HBO Mechanical Engineering
• 0-5 years' experience
• Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks is an advantage)
• Practical and keen to learn
• Good communication
