Job summary

ACE development & engineering in the Netherlands is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Food Sector) to design, develop and improve mechanical systems for production lines and food processing machinery. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in mechanical design for food industry.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of HACCP/EHEDG is a plus.

Mechanical Design Engineer (Food Sector)

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in the food industry, you will design, develop and improve mechanical systems and components for production lines and food processing machinery. Working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines, you will help ensure that our machines meet demanding quality standards, food safety requirements and the specific needs of our customers.

What will you do?

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for production machinery used in the food industry.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to ensure efficient, effective and manufacturable designs.
• Prepare technical drawings and specifications using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including production, quality and procurement, to optimise designs.
• Support prototype development and test new mechanical designs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, food safety requirements and industry standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

What do you bring?

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least two to three years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design processes and practical experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of food safety requirements and standards, such as HACCP and EHEDG, is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive, results-oriented approach with attention to detail.
