We are looking for a MBSE Engineer to work at our premises in Leiden, Netherlands. You will work with Capella, CDP4 COMET and digital engineering methods to bring requirements, interfaces and design decisions together into one coherent system view.

Naval defence projects bring together many functions such as energy, communication, safety and control. These functions continuously interact and evolve. You will bring structure to systems that grow quickly and help teams understand how functions connect and which design choices move the system forward.

About the client and location

STARION Group B.V. has two offices in Noordwijk and Leiden, The Netherlands, located close to some of our key clients at ESA’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) and the Galileo Reference Centre. Our expert teams here work within the space, security and system engineering sectors, with The Netherlands also being hub of STARION’s concurrent design and engineering services.

Je werkt vanuit het kantoor in Leiden. Afhankelijk van het project ben je ook aanwezig op de locatie van de opdrachtgever, bijvoorbeeld in de provincie Utrecht of in een stad binnen Zuid Holland. Je sluit aan bij een team van 6 MBSE engineers dat veel met elkaar overlegt. Zo blijft de structuur in de modellen sterk en groeit de gezamenlijke aanpak.

Je stapt in een van twee mogelijke projecten. Het eerste project is klein en bestaat uit drie tot vier mensen, waaronder collega’s van een partnerorganisatie. Het tweede project is groter en brengt jou samen met 3-4 Starion MBSE engineers binnen een team van ongeveer 20 specialisten. Beide projecten geven ruimte om kennis te delen en samen te bouwen aan sterke modellen die richting geven aan ontwerp en samenwerking.

In dit domein staan marineschepen en maritieme systemen centraal. Jouw modellen in Capella en CDP4 COMET helpen bij ontwerp, integratie en besluitvorming. Je werkt samen met specialisten van Defensie en met professionals uit de maritieme techniek. Zo draag je bij aan een aanpak die Starion in Nederland verder versterkt binnen naval en maritiem.

Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

• Developing system models based on clear requirements and interface information.
• Supporting teams in the use of Capella and the MBSE approach.
• Using tools such as CDP4 COMET to connect design, testing and verification.
• Tailoring the MBSE approach to suit maritime projects.
• Aligning with project management so that planning and models follow a consistent logic.
• Contributing to verification and validation and showing how each requirement will be tested.
• Supporting Starion in new proposals by demonstrating how digital engineering adds value in design, safety and collaboration.

• Het passend maken van de MBSE werkwijze voor maritieme projecten.
• Het afstemmen met projectmanagement zodat planning en modellen logisch samenlopen.
• Het bijdragen aan verificatie en validatie en zichtbaar maken hoe elke eis wordt getest.
• Het ondersteunen van Starion bij nieuwe voorstellen door te tonen hoe digital engineering waarde toevoegt aan ontwerp, veiligheid en samenwerking.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

• Previous experience with System Engineering methodologies, standards, languages and tools (e.g. SysML v1 and v2, ECSS-E-TM-10-25A).
