About the job

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Product & Planning), you will be a crucial member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), ensuring smooth operational deliveries. You will be responsible for analyzing production characteristics, managing Level 1 (L1) non‑conformities, defining temporary production instructions, and preparing dispositions for Level 2 (L2) non‑conformities. Your goal? Advancing to a Non‑Conformity (NC) approver role while continuously improving production processes.

Your responsibilities
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing development and integration for production.
  • Resolve issues related to vendor schedules and quality.
  • Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce non‑conformities.
  • Oversee the implementation of tooling and production planning using Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) methodologies.
  • Manage product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build process implementation.
  • Deliver measurable, results‑driven improvements aligned with Operational & Program goals.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Experience in product/process introduction (industrialization) and production process improvements.
  • 1 to 7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or related field).
  • Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills within a global organization.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100, or D1‑9000).
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with hard metals.
  • Familiarity with machining processes (milling, mill‑turn, boring, honing) and/or surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot‑peen, NDI) is a strict requirement.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred
  • Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills within a global organization.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100).
