Job summary

Staffice zoekt een Maintenance Technician / Breakdown Engineer die rechtstreeks in dienst treedt bij de klant en verantwoordelijk is voor de optimale werking van productie- en verpakkingslijnen. De werkdag start tussen 06:00 en 08:00 met inspecties en gepland onderhoud.

Bij storingen lees je machines en PLCs uit om issues te diagnosticeren en op te lossen in elektrotechniek, mechanica en automatisering, zodat apparatuur veilig, schoon en foutloos achterblijft aan het eind van de dag.

Qualifications

• Technische achtergrond met kennis van elektrotechniek, mechanica, besturingssystemen of automatisering.
• Ervaring met uitlezen van PLC-systemen en industriële machines.
• Ervaring met onderhoud in productie- of verpakkingsomgeving.
• Sterke analytische vaardigheden en proactieve aanpak bij storingsoplossing.
• Nauwkeurig werken met focus op veiligheid en hygiëne.
• Goede beheersing van Engels of Nederlands.
• Duidelijke communicatieve vaardigheden.

Responsibilities

• Uitlezen van machines en PLCs om technische problemen te analyseren en op te lossen.
• Lokaliseren en oplossen van storingen in machines en installaties.
• Uitvoeren van gepland en preventief onderhoud aan productie- en verpakkingsuitrusting.
• Beheren en inspecteren van gebouw-gerelateerde installaties.
• Voorgestelde verbeteringen om downtime en uitval te reduceren.
• Begeleiden en toezicht houden op externe technici op locatie.
• Zorgen voor naleving van veiligheid, kwaliteit en hygiëne.
• Productiepersoneel adviseren over veilige werking van machines.

Job description

In the position of Maintenance Technician / Breakdown Engineer, you will be directly employed by the client and responsible for ensuring optimal operation of the production and packaging lines. Your workday starts between 06:00 and 08:00 with inspections of the machinery and carrying out planned preventive maintenance. When a technical malfunction occurs during the day, you read out machines and PLCs to quickly diagnose issues in electrical engineering, mechanics, control systems, or automation and resolve them expertly. Between 15:00 and 17:00, you wrap up your day, leaving the equipment ready for safe, clean, and fault-free production.

Responsibilities

• Reading out machines and PLCs to analyze and resolve technical issues
• Locating, analyzing, and resolving technical malfunctions in machinery and installations
• Performing planned and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
• Managing, maintaining, and inspecting building-related installations
• Proposing improvements to reduce technical downtime and equipment failure
• Guiding and supervising external technical contractors and specialists on site
• Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene guidelines in the workplace
• Advising production personnel on the correct and safe operation of machinery

We are looking for

• Technical background with knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanics, control systems, or automation
• Experience with reading out PLC systems and industrial machinery
• Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance in a production or packaging environment
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical breakdowns
• Precise working method with focus on quality, safety, and hygiene
• Good command of either the English or Dutch language
• Clear and effective communication skills
