Job summary

Jobster is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our logistics operation in Venlo. You will be the technical specialist, diagnosing complex issues and driving improvements within a growing warehouse team.

You will work on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable solutions for equipment, electrical systems, and PLC-controlled machinery, reporting to the maintenance lead.

Qualifications

• MBO-level technical education in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
• About 3 years of relevant technical work experience in warehouse/logistics or automated environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills; PLC knowledge is a plus; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across machinery, electrical systems, and software.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns to identify root causes using a structured approach.
• Install, commission, maintain, and optimize warehouse machinery and logistics systems.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their logistics operation in Venlo. This is a newly created position within the maintenance team, offering the opportunity to make a real impact and help shape the role from the ground up. You will join a team of two mechanics and act as the technical specialist for more complex technical issues. While the team handles day‑day maintenance, you will focus on diagnosing recurring problems, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions. In addition, you will contribute to technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic warehouse environment. What will you do?

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving machinery, electrical systems, and software.

Requirements

• MBO-level education (or higher) in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
• Approximately 3 years of relevant technical work experience.
• Experience working within a warehouse, logistics, production, or automated industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on experience with machinery, electrical systems, and technical maintenance.
• Experience performing root cause analyses in a technical environment.
• Knowledge of PLC‑controlled systems is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• A proactive and independent mindset with the ability to take ownership and initiative.
• Own transportation and the ability to commute independently to the Venlo area.
