Job summary

Xccelerated offers an MLE-MLOps program for experienced ML Engineers or data scientists to learn about building scalable, production-ready data science applications. The bootcamp covers Python deployment, containerisation, Spark/Kafka processing, and cloud fundamentals, followed by a year onsite with partner companies.

Participants progress with guidance from supervising consultants and aim to join a partner organization after the first year, in Amsterdam and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/AI/SE.
• 1–4 years of experience as ML Engineer or Data Scientist.
• Experience with end-to-end data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes.
• Strong English communication; Dutch proficiency preferred.

Job description

Go beyond developing models that only run in local notebooks.

The Xccelerated MLE-MLOps program is for experienced ML Engineers or data scientists who want to learn everything about developing scalable, production‑ready data science applications. Develop your data science & engineering skills and go in‑depth with a wide variety of topics required to make real impact.

The Kick off

Every ML Engineer kicks off with two full‑time weeks of hands‑on bootcamp training. This intensive training focuses on writing deployable code with Python, containerisation, data processing at large scale with Apache Spark and Kafka, and cloud fundamentals. Participants learn through classroom lectures, short assignments, hackathons and collaborative project assignments. Our ML Engineering Lead Matthijs chooses the best training approach for the topic, depending on your needs.

The next 12 months

After these 2 kick off weeks, you spend a full year working on‑site four days a week at one of our partner companies and returning one day a week to our Xccelerated office in Amsterdam. During the “return” days, you split your time between theory and practice—gaining project guidance and coaching from our supervising consultants to support you in the partner company’s projects, while also diving deeper into ML engineer topics. At the end of your first year, you get the opportunity to join the partner organisation directly.

Ready to become a MLE‑MLOps Xccelerator?

As a ML Engineer you will work together with other medior‑ and senior team members on challenging projects for our clients and help them make a real impact by improving their data platforms and industrialising machine learning.

Besides this, you like big data tools and programming frameworks to ensure that the raw data gathered from data pipelines are used to build production‑ready scalable applications driven by data and AI.

• A technical bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g. computer science, informatics, artificial intelligence, software engineering)
• 1‑4 years of work experience as a ML Engineer or Data scientist
• Statistical knowledge, but are mainly experienced with end‑to‑end systems and able to run, deploy and monitor them
• Preferably experience with the entire data pipeline (from data storage to model development)
• Knowledge of open‑source technologies like Spark, Kafka, Airflow and Kubernetes
• Good communication skills (English) and able to speak Dutch on a professional level
