At Jan Zandbergen, we are looking for logistics staff to join our team.
ABOUT JAN ZANDBERGEN
Jan Zandbergen is a supplier of ingredients, semi-finished products, finished products and concepts in the meat, poultry and meat substitute sectors. With around 150 employees, we operate from our head office in Veenendaal. Here, we are situated at the heart of Dutch Food Valley: the region where companies and research institutes in the food sector form a strong network and work together to capitalise on new opportunities. In addition to our head office and two production sites, the Jan Zandbergen Group has a procurement office in Curitiba, Brazil, ensuring a smooth and reliable flow of goods. With our second sales office in London, our customers benefit from efficient support, providing certainty for the future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Jan Zandbergen, we have one of the most modern warehouses in the food industry. Our logistics team of 30 colleagues works in perfect harmony, ensuring that every order is picked as efficiently as possible and dispatched to our customers across Europe. For us, the customer is king and quality always comes first. As a result, no two days – or orders – are ever the same.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- You will process orders and prepare them for dispatch.
- You will collect products from various pallets, weigh them accurately, and load and unload goods efficiently.
- You’ll check the packaging, labels and use‑by dates to ensure products reach the customer as fresh as possible.
- Once you’ve obtained a forklift and/or reach truck certificate, you’ll collect pallets from various locations in our warehouse.
- You’ll start between 5.00 and 6.00 am and finish at 3.00 pm, or you’ll start at 3.00 pm and finish at midnight. Once every four weeks, you’ll be on call on a Saturday. Naturally, you’ll receive a generous allowance for this, on top of your basic salary.
- Do you want to develop your skills further? With us, you’ll have every opportunity to do so!
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Experience of working in a warehouse would be an advantage.
- You never stop learning.
- You don’t feel the cold easily, and you don’t mind working with animal products.
- You’re good at switching between different tasks.
- You enjoy contributing ideas on all aspects of your role, such as optimising processes; you’re more than happy to support day‑to‑day management with your knowledge and skills.
- You are meticulous, as you weigh orders precisely and carry out (quality) checks.
- You are flexible in terms of working hours.
WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU?
- A gross basic salary of between €2,700 and €3,250 per month (based on knowledge, skills, age and qualifications), a basic allowance, a cold weather allowance, an irregular hours allowance, an overtime allowance, holiday pay and an end‑of‑year bonus – in short: a good income.
- 24 days’ annual leave and 8% holiday pay;
- A free lunch every day with fruit, salad, soups and fresh rolls;
- 2% end‑of‑year bonus;
- The opportunity to work out every working day in the gym at our own Food Innovation Centre.
- Every Friday afternoon there’s a sociable get‑together, and we also organise great departmental and company outings! We regularly hold other fun activities too, such as ‘All of Zandbergen Bakes’, bingo, a pub quiz or indoor football.
- Six times a year, the opportunity to purchase meat (and meat substitutes) at a competitive price.
- A secure, stable job where you can develop yourself and continue to grow in terms of tasks, responsibilities and salary.
- A financially sound employer committed to the long term.
- It’s no coincidence that our slogan is “Innovation That Matters”. So expect plenty of initiatives that we’ll “just go ahead and do” – the Jan Zandbergen Group never stands still, and neither will your career. We offer internal and external training and development programmes.
