Freeman Price is delighted to be working with a well-established Automation Machinery Manufacturer in the search for a new Lead Mechanical Engineer.

As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and processes.

You will provide functional leadership within the mechanical field to employees across multiple projects, working with teams in various locations. You will delegate mechanical tasks and review the work delivered. Approximately 60% to 70% of your time will be spent on engineering tasks yourself.

We expect you to be innovative, contribute to standards and developments in the mechanical field, and propose cost-effective solutions in production, service, maintenance, and energy consumption. Maintaining good relationships with hardware and software engineers is also essential.

What will you do?

• Create estimates of project hours based on technical specifications.
• Prepare drawing packages and assembly drawings timely, fully, and with quality standards.
• Ensure mechanical design accuracy throughout all project phases.
• Collaborate with team members, providing feedback and solving technical challenges.
• Document all aspects of design and development, including specifications, drawings, test results, and changes for traceability.
• Perform analyses such as strength calculations, simulations, and stress analyses to evaluate performance, reliability, and safety.
• Ensure designs comply with quality standards, regulations, and specifications.
