Job summary

Ubique Systems in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced lead Java developer to drive back-end platforms. You will oversee a large team, collaborate with multiple domains, and deliver robust Java applications with Spring Boot in a DevOps-friendly environment.

Responsibilities include design, development, and documentation of software, with strong emphasis on integration, concurrency, and testing using JUnit/Mockito. Experience in payments domains is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a team handling large Java development projects.
• Strong back-end Java experience with adherence to coding standards.
• Hands-on with Java 21 and modern OO concepts.
• Experience with Kafka and messaging queues and integration tasks.
• Knowledge of the payments domain (SEPA/SWIFT) is a plus.
• Proficient in Spring / Spring Boot, REST/MVC, and unit testing (JUnit/Mockito).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team through end-to-end Java development cycles and ensure collaboration with Business, Architecture, Operations, and Platform teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Java-based applications and ensure code quality.
• Document software designs and technical specifications.
• Implement robust error handling, concurrency, and performance best practices.
• Work with database technologies including Cassandra and SQL-based systems.
