Job summary

First Case seeks a Lead Data Center Engineer to own full technical responsibility for data center sites, from planning to handover. You coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensure safety, and directly advise clients while aligning with system manufacturers to keep progress on schedule.

You bring 8+ years in electrical engineering for critical installations, strong knowledge of UPS/back‑up power, and leadership experience at senior levels. Chinese?

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (8+ years) as an electrical engineer or in commercial/industrial buildings with critical installations.
• Knowledge of UPS systems and backup power; deep hands-on experience is a strong plus.
• Certified WV and IV under NEN 3140; able to work as installation lead on complex projects.
• Proven experience in project leadership, planning and client advisory at senior level.
• Able to lead technical teams and act as the face of First Case to major clients.
• Owns HSE on site: safety, work plans, toolbox talks, and enforcing them.
• Fluent English in a professional working setting.

Job description

You are responsible for the site. For the technology, the planning, the safety and for what the client experiences.

You must already be allowed to work in the Netherlands. We do not sponsor visas or work permits.

As Lead Data Center Engineer you carry responsibility for a complete data center site, or for a defined part of one: full power infrastructure in Tier 4 data centers, from preparation and engineering through installation to handover. You build the planning and the phasing, spread the teams across the work and hold progress against what was agreed. HSE is not a side issue here, you set how the work is done safely and, as work responsible person and installation responsible person, you put that on paper. Towards the client you are adviser and point of contact: you think along on choices, align with the manufacturer that commissions the systems, and keep the process on site running as tightly as possible. No management layer above you, but a direct line to the leadership and influence on how First Case sets up its work technically.

The essentials

Salary €4.900 to €5.900 per month

• 38 hours per week
• Fulltime
• Based in Wateringen.

As Lead you earn €4.900 at entry, rising to €5.900 through the CAO pay grades. This is the highest technical role at First Case: there is no higher up the technical path.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience (8+ years) as an electrical engineer or engineer in commercial and industrial buildings, with responsibility for critical installations
• Knowledge of UPS systems and backup power, in-depth experience with them is a strong plus
• NEN 3140 VP, VCA VOL and NEN 1010
• You are the work responsible person (WV) and installation responsible person (IV) under NEN 3140
• Proven experience in project leadership, planning and client advice at senior level
• You can lead technical teams and are the face of First Case to the biggest clients
• You own HSE on site: safe working, work plan and toolbox talks, and you hold people to it
• You plan and organise the work: phasing, staffing, materials and progress
• English at working level
