Expereo in Amsterdam is seeking a Lead API Engineer to design and evolve our API and integration landscape behind a modern connectivity and network services platform. This role is hands‑on, with ownership around API design, integration architecture, and cross‑team engineering standards.

You will build scalable backend systems and integrations that connect internal platforms, external providers, and business‑critical systems, mentor engineers, and participate in architectural discussions to drive

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building backend systems and APIs in C#/.NET.
• Experience designing and evolving production‑grade REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of API design, integration architecture, and scalable backend engineering.
• Familiarity with API gateways, OAuth2/OIDC‑based authentication and authorization patterns, and observability tooling.
• Experience working in AWS‑based environments.
• Experience integrating with SaaS platforms and external systems.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, maintainability, and operational reliability.
• Comfortable working in collaborative engineering environments with shared ownership.
• Pragmatic engineering mindset with a strong focus on delivering maintainable solutions.

About the Role

Lead API Engineer to design and evolve the API and integration landscape behind a modern connectivity and network services platform. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend systems using C#/.NET, TypeScript, and related technologies
• Help shape and evolve API standards, integration patterns, and engineering best practices across teams
• Design and implement REST and GraphQL APIs that support both platform integrations and frontend application experiences
• Build integrations between internal systems, external providers, and Salesforce‑based business workflows

Requirements

Must have

• Experience with frontend application development using React and TypeScript, with an understanding of how frontend and API design influence each other
