Job description

About Us:

At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.

In this Loyalty FP&A Lead role you will be a part of a dynamic, international and fast-paced team, working in the scope of the Marketplace department. This position is based in Amsterdam, NL and will report to the Senior Manager of FP&A, Marketplace. This position offers the opportunity to drive financial decision making within Booking.com. You will be required to provide strong financial and analytical support to your business unit (BU) or department’s stakeholders. You will have to bridge what the data tell you and how that could help decision-making on a wide array of topics. You will be supporting the planning and forecasting cycles for both financial and operational business metrics. This includes revenues, expenses and other important KPIs; it also includes non-financial metrics and driver metrics of performance. You will also be involved in reporting versus budget and forecast and support on ad-hoc analyses whenever there is a need from the business.

The FP&A Lead, Loyalty role, is an individual contributor and will be responsible for the following: (1) Serve as the dedicated finance business partner to the Loyalty Team. (2) Own short- and long-term financial modeling, reporting and business case construction for various loyalty initiatives and programs, (3) Collaborate across multiple Business and Finance departments to guarantee that diverse operational aspects are thoroughly integrated into the financials, and (4) Lead and direct ad hoc projects on an as-needed basis. Due to the continuous evolution of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves. This role requires a dynamic and proactive person with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain predictive financial models to assess the impact of tier changes, reward pricing, and partner promotions on program profitability and customer lifetime value (CLTV)

  • Campaign & Promotional ROI: Lead Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) on promotional campaigns, tier changes, and bonus offers to determine incremental margin impact and ROI.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting processes as well as weekly estimates for loyalty operations and program funding

  • Commercial Challenge: Partner with non-finance managers to challenge assumptions, guide pricing decisions, and ensure commercial viability of new program features

  • Performance Reporting: Produce business performance packs, clearly explaining the key drivers of performance and financial variances to senior management

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other related field

  • Background: 8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), commercial finance, or a similar business partnering role within Loyalty Programs in Retail, Travel, FMCG or Banking/Credit Cards; prior experience in co-brand credit cards preferred

  • Loyalty Program Acumen: Deep understanding of consumer loyalty mechanics (e.g., breakage, deferred revenue, redemption margins, and partner cobrand agreements) as well as loyalty program related accounting standards

  • Analytical Prowess: Advanced financial modeling, experience with data visualization and SQL

  • Influencing & Communication: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills. Proven ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear commercial insights and confidently guide or persuade senior commercial leaders without direct authority

  • Proactive Mindset: Self-driven mentality, proactively seeking to find solutions to problems and providing the best analytics possible to key decision makers

  • Resilience and time management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion

Benefits & Perks - Global Impact, Personal Relevance

  • Annual paid time off and generous paid leave scheme including: parent, grandparent, bereavement, and care leave

  • Hybrid working including flexible working arrangements, and up to 20 days per year working from abroad (home country)

  • Industry leading product discounts - up to 1400 per year - for yourself, including automatic Genius Level 3 status and Booking.com wallet credit
