Job summary

StudentJob biedt een stage/instellingsplek als Junior soil consultant bij onze cliënt in de Environmental & Energy tak. Je werkt aan historische bodemonderzoeken, bereidt veldwerk voor en adviseert over de uitkomsten onder begeleiding van een mentor.

Je volgt een trainingsprogramma in je eerste jaar en krijgt persoonlijke begeleiding met momenten van 1, 3, 6 en 9 maanden. Het betreft een start in een groeiende consultancyomgeving met doorgroeimogelijkheden.

Qualifications

• Een hogere beroepsopleiding/universitaire graad, bij voorkeur in Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Spatial Development, Urban Planning of vergelijkbaar.
• Interesse in bodem is belangrijker dan opleiding.
• Collegial, betrokken en een teamspeler.
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in het Nederlands (min. B2), schriftelijk en mondeling.
• Structuur en georganiseerdheid.
• Beschikbaar voor 32–40 uur per week.

Responsibilities

• Uitvoeren van historisch bodemonderzoek.
• Voorbereiden van veldwerk.
• Analyseren en adviseren over resultaten van bodemonderzoek.
• Regelmatig contact met collega’s en klanten.
• Werken aan projecten en bodembeleid uitwerken.

What Does a Junior Soil Consultant Do?

Due to a growing portfolio, the Environmental & Energy department of our client is looking for entrepreneurial junior soil consultants. Your tasks are diverse and include conducting historical soil research, preparing fieldwork, analyzing, and advising on the results of the soil investigation you oversee. You will have frequent contact with colleagues, both within and outside the organization, as well as with clients. Depending on your ambitions, there are numerous growth opportunities.

• Preparing, supervising, and evaluating soil investigations;
• Collaborating with colleagues working on soil research and soil policies;
• Researching, advising, organizing, and implementing projects;
• Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques such as sensing, software, and big data;
• Working for both governmental bodies and private businesses.

Your Start:

To develop into an independent and professional soil consultant, you will follow a structured training program during your first year, combining hands‑on learning with in‑depth content development. You will receive personal guidance from an experienced mentor, with set development and evaluation moments at 1, 3, 6, and 9 months to actively track and ensure your growth. Additionally, you will participate in the soil consultant training program, featuring various knowledge sessions, including:

• Historical soil research;
• Fieldwork and interpretation;
• Digitalization and data‑driven work;
• Material properties;
• Working with QGIS;
• Using AI.

What we expect from you

• A completed higher vocational education/university degree, preferable in Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Spatial Development, Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, or similar;
• An interest in the field of soil (more important than your educational background);
• Collegial, involved, and a team player;
• Good communication skills (at least Dutch B2 level), both written and spoken;
• Structured and organized;
• Available for 32 to 40 hours per week.
