Job summary

The Institute of Environmental Science CML at Leiden University is inviting applications for a Junior Research Software Engineer. In this role, you will develop user-friendly software, dashboards, and tools to support sustainability research. You will collaborate closely with researchers to create effective data visuals and facilitate reproducible science.

Applicants should have an MSc in relevant fields and strong programming skills, particularly in Python and JavaScript. The position offers an initial one-year contract with options for extension and a salary between €3,708 and €5,057 gross monthly, among other benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience building front-end and back-end applications.
• Knowledge of containerization and reproducibility tools is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientific software and applications.
