Equinix Amsterdam seeks practical, hands-on Mechanical Engineers/Technicians to maintain and improve critical cooling and mechanical systems in our data centres. You will handle equipment like cooling towers, pumps, piping, fans, and chilled water systems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance while learning from experienced colleagues.

We welcome Dutch-speaking graduates or practitioners who are curious, eager to learn, and comfortable communicating in English.

Competenze

• MBO Level 3/4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Mechatronics, Installation Technology or similar.
• Recent graduate, apprentice, or practical maintenance experience accepted.
• Curious, eager to learn and willing to develop new technical skills.
• Comfortable working with tools and mechanical equipment.
• A team player who enjoys solving problems, fluent in Dutch and able to communicate in English.
• Experience with refrigeration tech, STEK certification, or F-Gases is a plus.

Mansioni

• Maintain and improve mechanical systems in Amsterdam data centres.
• Work on equipment: cooling towers, pumps, piping, fans/ventilation, cooling/chilled water systems, and other critical infrastructure.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and diagnose equipment issues.

What You'll Do

As a Critical Facility Engineer, you'll help maintain and improve the mechanical systems that keep our Amsterdam data centres operating safely and reliably.

You’ll work on equipment such as:

• Cooling towers
• Pumps and piping systems
• Fans and ventilation systems
• Cooling and chilled water systems
• Other critical mechanical infrastructure

With support from experienced colleagues, you'll:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
• Learn how to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
• Follow safety and operational procedures
• Record completed work accurately in maintenance systems
• Help identify improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, and safety
• Work closely with fellow engineers, planners, and operational teams

Who We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

• Qualified to MBO Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Mechatronics, Installation Technology, or a similar technical field
• A recent graduate, apprentice, or someone with practical maintenance experience
• Curious, eager to learn, and willing to develop new technical skills
• Comfortable working with tools and mechanical equipment
• A team player who enjoys solving problems
• Fluent in Dutch and comfortable communicating in English

Experience with refrigeration technology, STEK certification, or F-Gases is a plus, but not essential. If you have a solid technical foundation and the right attitude, we'll help you develop the rest.
