Job summary

Nance in Amsterdam is seeking a junior software engineer who is eager to learn and build with cutting-edge AI tools; if you have 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience and have shipped projects, you’ll fit right in. You’ve worked with LLMs and can explain what worked and what didn’t.

Fundamentals matter most; React, Python or cloud infra experience is helpful but not required. You learn fast, own your work, and care about UX, speed and data correctness.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• You've built something with LLMs and can explain what worked and what didn't.
• Solid fundamentals in software engineering; React/Python/cloud infra helpful but fundamentals matter most.
• Product sensibility: you care about UX, speed and polish and speak up when something isn't right.
• You learn fast, take ownership and are comfortable figuring things out without detailed instructions.
• Daily user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex or similar).
• Careful about correctness and data handling.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus, not required.

• You've built something with LLMs, at work or on the side, and you can tell us what worked and what didn't.

• Solid software engineering fundamentals. Experience with React, Python or cloud infra helps, but fundamentals matter more than knowing our exact stack.

• Product sensibility: you care about UX, speed and polish, and you speak up when something doesn't feel right.

• You learn fast, take ownership and are comfortable figuring things out without detailed instructions.

• Daily user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex or similar) and enthusiastic about them as a way to build software.

• Careful about correctness and data handling.

• Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus, not a requirement.
