Job summary

The company, Amsterdam-based, is seeking mid-level and senior Java Engineers to join our Customer Experience Solution. You will own the full development cycle from design to production, working with one of the largest PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance and reliability on a global product.

You will build and maintain distributed systems, collaborate across teams across time zones, and contribute to fast iteration with code deployed quickly. Amsterdam office-based, no remote-only roles.

Java Software Engineer / Senior Java Engineer

Our engineers are reshaping the payments landscape. We’re looking for more talented problem solvers to help us address a unique set of challenges.

We are looking for Mid level and Senior Java Engineers for a number of positions in the teams within our Customer Experience Solution.

As an engineer at the company , you will beresponsible for the full development cycle from software design to testing and ensuring everything works as expected in production. You will work with one of the biggest PostgreSQL databases out there, focusing on maintaining the platform's performance and reliability.

Who you are:

• You have experience with Java, web services, REST APIs and SQL / PostgreSQL
• You have worked with and deployed high-throughput and highly reliable services
• You are proactive, you take ownership and you strive for quality, from both a technical and product perspective
• You have excellent communication skills and you can explain complex, technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• You are a team player who knows when and how to involve other people to hear different perspectives
• You know how to evaluate tradeoffs and how to balance speed vs tech debt
• You enjoy working on a global product that impacts millions of people everyday
• Nice to have: experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Elasticsearch

What you’ll do:

• You will build and maintain our distributed high-performance platform
• You will be part of a diverse and inclusive team
• We launch fast and iterate often. Concretely, this means that within your first few weeks, you will bring code live that impacts many businesses and shoppers
• You will be fully responsible from its initial design to bringing new functionality live
• Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable
• Collaborate across teams and time zones to make things happen, review code and be open to feedback
