Job summary

ALTEN, Rotterdam, is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications while contributing to system architecture discussions and best practices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of hands-on Java experience, plus familiarity with Kubernetes, Git, and SonarQube. A hybrid working arrangement, a permanent contract, and a supportive development environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related technical field
• Proficient with Java with at least 3+ years of practical experience
• Broad knowledge of tooling like Kubernetes, Git, SonarQube and other tooling
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features
