Job summary

Tata Steel Netherlands is seeking an IT value stream architect for the Finance value stream. You will define, safeguard, and evolve end-to-end architecture supporting the value chain from inception to invoicing and payment.

You will lead architecture across SAP Finance domains and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile, SAFe environment to enable secure, scalable digital solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s level education in Computer Science, IT, or Technical Business Administration.
• Full professional proficiency in Dutch (written and spoken) is required.
• Extensive IT architecture experience in large, complex organizations.
• Strong enterprise architecture knowledge including value streams, integration patterns, governance.

Job description

As an IT value stream architect for the Finance value stream at Tata Steel Netherlands (TSN), you are responsible for defining, safeguarding, and evolving the end-to-end application and integration architecture that supports the value chain, from first customer interaction through to invoicing and payment.

The Record to Report value stream covers the complete process from financial transaction recording and sub-ledger accounting, through period close, consolidation, reporting, and statutory and management reporting. Within this value stream, you will provide architectural direction across key SAP Finance domains such as SAP Finance (FI), General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Management Accounting (CO), Product Costing, Taxation, Period Close, and Finance-related Master Data. You will work in a complex SAP-centric landscape with strong integration to upstream and downstream business processes.

You work within IT Value Stream Architecture team, part of Applications & Transformation within Digital Technologies (DT), delivering secure, scalable and future-proof digital solutions across Tata Steel Netherlands.

As Value Stream Architect, you:

• Define and maintain architecture vision, principles, and roadmap for Record to Report, aligned with business strategy.
• Translate business strategy and value stream priorities into robust, scalable application and integration architectures across the full Record to Report landscape.
• Safeguard architectural consistency and ensure alignment with enterprise standards, IT governance, security, performance, and maintainability requirements.
• Work closely with Value Stream Owners, Product Owners, application teams, platform teams, and external partners.
• Support Agile and DevOps teams with clear architectural guidance, enabling fast, safe, and high-quality delivery of change.

You are an (experienced) architect who combines strategic thinking with hands‑on architectural leadership in complex IT landscapes. You feel comfortable operating in a dynamic Agile environment and are able to balance long-term architectural integrity with short-term delivery needs.

You bring:

• A master’s level education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Technical Business Administration.
• Full professional proficiency in Dutch (both written and spoken) is required to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Extensive IT architecture experience with a strong background in solution, process, and application architecture within large, complex organizations.
• Solid enterprise architecture knowledge, including value streams, business capabilities, integration patterns, and IT governance.
• Proven ability to design and govern end-to-end architectures with significant organizational and business impact.
• Experience applying ArchiMate to design, document, and communicate enterprise, value stream, and solution architectures.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments, preferably within SAFe for Architects.
• The ability to clearly communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence senior-level decision-making.

You will be part of the IT Value Stream Architecture team within IT Applications & Transformation, a key pillar of Digital Technologies at Tata Steel Netherlands. Digital Technologies plays a central, organization-wide role and is responsible for architecture, platforms, applications, data, and digital services across TSN. The IT Applications & Transformation organization drives the development of a secure, integrated, and future-ready application landscape.

The team focuses on enabling value streams with reliable, secure, and scalable application landscapes, driving business value for TSN, and supporting standardization and simplification of the IT landscape. In addition, the team supports Agile delivery by providing clear architectural direction and governance, while ensuring strong alignment between business strategy, technology choices, and long-term digital roadmaps.

As IT Value Stream Architect for Record to Report, you play a key role in shaping the digital backbone of TSN’s commercial processes. You directly contribute to customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and sustainable value creation by ensuring a coherent and future-proof architecture across the end-to-end Lead to Cash domain.
