Job summary

Curiosity, Amsterdam-based VC, offers an internship for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in deal flow analysis, startup scouting, and portfolio support. Based in our Amsterdam office with hybrid work, you will collaborate with a small, entrepreneurial team and contribute to evaluating opportunities in AI-driven B2B software.

The role includes preparing investment proposals, supporting PR and events, and the potential to convert to a full-time analyst.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's level program in business, finance, CS, engineering or related field.
• Interest in technology and entrepreneurship.
• Experience in fast-paced environments (startups, strategy consulting, investment banking or VC) is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Dutch knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
• Ability to connect with entrepreneurs and build a local network.

Curiosity is an emerging venture capital firm based in Amsterdam, focused on early-stage investments in AI-driven B2B software companies in Benelux, Nordics and Baltics regions. Our mission is to support these companies in their journey to become market leaders. Founded in 2021 by two experienced operator-investors, and supported by three investment professionals, Curiosity is backed by a vibrant community of advisors, entrepreneurs, and limited partners.

As we have recently started investing from our Fund II, we are expanding our investment team. This presents a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the venture capital industry. By joining us as an Investment Analyst (internship), you will work closely with our team, contributing to deal flow analysis, scouting new startups, and supporting our portfolio companies, while also supporting PR &event activities. This internship, based in our Amsterdam office, offers the potential for conversion into a full-time analyst role.

Activities

• Scouting promising Startups: Actively search for and connect with ambitious entrepreneurs, identifying startups with high potential in the AI driven B2B software space
• Assessing Investment Opportunities: Conduct thorough analyses of potential investments, including market attractiveness, competition, and financial performance, to support informed decision-making
• Developing Investment Proposals: Assist in the preparation of detailed investment proposals, fund reporting and other essential documentation that guides our investment strategies

Requirements

• Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset: You are proactive, resourceful, and thrive in dynamic environments
• Educational Background: Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a (Master's) level university program in business, finance, computer science, engineering or a related field
• Work experience: Have gained some initial experience in fast-paced work environments, such as startups, strategy consulting, investment banking or venture capital
• Affinity with technology and entrepreneurship: A clear interest in technology and a passion for entrepreneurship
• Team Player with strong communication skills: You work well with others and communicate effectively; having a network in the tech ecosystem is a plus
• Analytical and data-driven: You approach problem solving with a logical, data-driven mindset, while remaining pragmatic
• Language skills: Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus but not required
• Local network: A network in the local startup scenes in the Benelux, Nordics or Baltics is a plus

Work environment

• This role is based in Amsterdam with a hybrid work arrangement. You will be expected to work in the office from Monday to Wednesday, with flexibility for remote work on other days

The internship is for minimally 4 months and maximally 6 months, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The internship offers a monthly internship fee of €600, plus reimbursement of travel costs to and from the office up to a maximum of €200. We do not offer visa sponsorship to non-EU citizens.
