Job description

At AGRI3, we are on a mission to transform the way the world grows its food. We are a blended finance fund dedicated to mobilising additional public and private capital at scale to support the transition of food and agriculture systems. By providing guarantees that de‑risk financing, we enable financial institutions to back projects that might otherwise be deemed too risky – projects that prevent deforestation, stimulate reforestation, promote sustainable agricultural production and improve rural livelihoods.

We are currently in an exciting scaling phase. With a portfolio already exceeding USD 130 million and over 30 deals closed across Latin America, Africa and Asia, we are proving that finance can promote more sustainable agriculture production and improve rural livelihoods. Now, we are setting our sights on a next milestone: mobilising USD 1 billion in funding to drive environmental and social change.

About the Role

Do you want to sit at the intersection of high‑level finance and on‑the‑ground impact? Are you ready to use your expertise in finance and investments to unlock capital for nature? As our Investment Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing relationships with our Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) and executing transactions that empower farmers and strengthen food systems in developing markets.

Picture this: A bank in Brazil wants to finance a large‑scale reforestation project, but the credit risk and size of the transaction is just outside their comfort zone. A financial institution in India identifies a way to fund a project that provides efficient irrigation and solar water pumps for thousands of rural farmers, but needs a partner to share the exposure.

This is where you come in. You won’t just be reviewing spreadsheets; you will be the architect of guarantees and financial solutions that make these deals possible, bridging the gap between conservative banking and urgent environmental needs.

You will act as a bridge between AGRI3 and our partners, identifying impactful investment opportunities within their portfolios and ensuring that capital flows to where it matters most. You will operate within a small, diversified team that encourages you to take ownership and show initiative every day.

What you’ll be doing

Your work will be dynamic, blending deal execution with strategic portfolio management. One moment you might be negotiating deal structures and defining impact KPIs for a new transaction in Latin America. The next, you could be presenting an overview of performance of our guarantees in India to our Investment Committee or analysing industry trends to safeguard our portfolio against emerging risks.

  • Deal Execution & Relationship Management: Manage relationships with existing PFIs and develop a robust deal pipeline. Execute new transactions from structuring, due diligence and presentation to the investment committee until negotiation and closing, working closely with the PFI and, where required, with external advisors to ensure efficient execution.
  • Portfolio Management: Act as the guardian of our portfolio data and performance. Track the AGRI3 portfolio management process and maintain oversight of the portfolio management activities, ensuring data integrity and compliance with fund policies. Prepare regular reports on financial and impact performance for our governance bodies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the fund in key negotiations and lead the preparation of materials for senior leadership and the Investment Committee. Liaise with investors to keep them updated on deal progress and portfolio developments.
Who you are

You bring at least 5–7 years of relevant experience in investment banking, development finance, or impact finance, with a solid understanding of private credit, structured finance, or project finance as well as portfolio management. A Master’s degree in economics or finance provides your academic foundation, and certifications like the CFA are a definite plus.

Crucially, you are a self‑starter with strong analytical and organisational skills, capable of managing complex processes and multiple stakeholders simultaneously. You are pragmatic, flexible, and thrive in an international environment.

  • Global Mindset: Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Portuguese is highly desirable given our work in Brazil, as is experience in Latin America or Southeast Asia.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience working with Co‑Pilot and Power BI is a plus.
  • Passion for Impact: While financial acumen is key, you have a genuine interest in or experience with sustainable agriculture, forestry, and ESG analysis.
  • Mobility: Based in the EU with the right to work here and excited about periodic travel to visit partners and project sites in developing countries.
What’s in it for you

This is an opportunity to further develop your career in impact investing within an innovative, growing fund. You will work in a role that offers diversity, responsibility, and the chance to see private sector investment achieve tangible environmental results. Beyond the competitive salary, you will be part of a team where knowledge sharing, inspiration, and fun are part of the daily culture.

  • Start Date: January 2026, initially 1‑year contract
  • Location: Amsterdam (City Centre), The Netherlands
  • Reporting Line: You will report to the Investment Director of the AGRI3 Fund
