Job summary

Danone NL is seeking a Sustainability Intern for the Global Specialized Nutrition unit to join an agile team driving sustainability transformation across the organization. You will dig into market dynamics, support internal communications, and help embed sustainability in business strategy with cross-functional teams.

You will be supervised by the Sustainability Transformation Director, gaining global exposure in a multicultural company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student during the whole internship period.
• Resident of the Netherlands with a valid BSN number (non-EU citizens need a valid Dutch residency permit).
• If non-EU, a 3-party internship agreement signed by the university is required.
• Ideally available to start January 2027 for 6–8 months, 5 days a week.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Able to work from Hoofddorp office at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing sustainability strategies through information scouting, data consolidation, and competitor tracking.
• Animate deployment of sustainability communications across the globe via local teams network.
• Define and execute internal communication plan including newsletters, events, and engagement programs.
• Support internal marketing and sales teams in embedding sustainability into their action plans.
• Monitor sustainability insights and translate them into actionable opportunities.

About The Job

As a Sustainability Intern at Danone Global Specialized Nutrition, you will have the chance to join an agile team driving sustainability transformation across the organization, dig into market dynamics and competitive intelligence, animate internal communication plans, work with business teams to embed sustainability in their strategy, and help the team on the day-to-day missions, interacting with many cross‑functional teams within the company.

You will be part of the Sustainability team, a small and lean team connected to all the functions of the organization. You will be supervised and report to the Sustainability Transformation Director of the Specialized Nutrition Unit of Danone. You will interact with different departments and gain experience at a global scope in a multicultural company.

As the Sustainability Intern, your main tasks and responsibilities will be

• Participate in the development of Danone Specialized Nutrition sustainability strategies through scouting of information, data consolidation, context understanding, competitors’ tracking
• Animate the deployment of sustainability communications across the globe, through our network of local teams
• Define and execute internal communication plan, consisting of a quarterly newsletter, on-site events, upskilling programs, everyday engagement plan, to spread Danone SN initiatives and actions across the organization
• Support internal marketing and sales teams in embedding sustainability into their action plans
• Monitor sustainability insights, benchmarks and initiatives to translate them into actionable opportunities

About you

We are looking for a Master student in Business, Marketing, or another equivalent field with a good understanding of business dynamics and a strong interest in Sustainability and Environmental Science, passionate about making business a force for good in the biggest B Corp™ of the world!

You have strong communication skills, at ease with data and project management, you are familiar with Excel and PowerPoint and your English is fluent (verbal and written). You are not afraid to proactively reach out to people when necessary and you are perfectly able to work in autonomy. You are curious, adaptable, reactive, your professionalism is well known. You can also demonstrate your organizational and detail‑orientation skills. Some creativity added to rigor is a plus.

Compulsory requirements

• Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student during the whole internship period;
• You are a resident of the Netherlands and hold a valid BSN number (if you are a non‑EU citizen, you need to have a valid Dutch residency permit);
• In the case of non‑EU citizens, it is mandatory to provide a 3‑party internship agreement signed by your university;
• Ideally available to start in January 2027 for a minimum of 6 months (preferably 8), 5 days per week;
• You are fluent in English- spoken and written;
• You are able to work from our Hoofddorp office, at least 2 days per week.
