Job summary

Hunkemöller is launching the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program in February 2027, inviting 50+ interns to join. You will work in IT/integration on live systems, own tasks in Jira, and see your work reach production.

You will set up SSO/SCIM in Okta, manage GitHub and Jira configurations, build flows with MuleSoft and GCP, and write small services in Cloud Run. The internship includes a buddy, WFH flexibility, a 450€ monthly allowance, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in HBO/WO IT or related field.
• Basic understanding of APIs, REST and JSON.
• Some programming experience (Python, Golang, JavaScript, C# or similar).
• Good English skills, both spoken and written.
• Familiarity with identity concepts such as SSO, SAML, OAuth and MFA is a plus.
• Interest in retail and e-commerce systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SCIM provisioning in Okta for joiners, movers and leavers.
• Manage GitHub organisations, teams, repository access and branch protection, and connect GitHub to Okta.
• Configure Jira projects, workflows, permission schemes and automation rules.
• Review access rights regularly and clean up accounts and licences that are no longer needed.
• Document configurations and create how-to guides for the service desk.

What will you do?

Your focus is on our integration landscape and our IT for IT applications.

You will work on live systems, take ownership of real tasks in Jira, and see your work go to production.

• Set up SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SCIM provisioning in Okta for joiners, movers and leavers.
• Manage GitHub organisations, teams, repository access and branch protection, and connect GitHub to Okta.
• Configure Jira projects, workflows, permission schemes and automation rules.
• Review access rights regularly and clean up accounts and licences that are no longer needed.
• Document configurations and create how-to guides for the service desk.
• Build and modify integration flows in MuleSoft and GCP.
• Write and maintain small services and scripts on GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub).
• Test APIs with Postman, analyse payloads and troubleshoot issues through logs.
• Monitor interfaces and perform first-line analysis of failed messages using Datadog and other logging tools.
• Work with GitHub Actions for builds and deployments.
• Keep interface documentation in Confluence up to date.
• Join stand-ups, refinements and vendor calls.
• Identify manual processes and propose automation opportunities.

About you

• Currently enrolled in an HBO or WO study in IT, Computer Science, Business IT or a related field.
• Basic understanding of APIs, REST and JSON.
• Some programming experience (Python, Golang, JavaScript, C# or similar).
• Curious, structured, and not afraid to ask questions.
• Good English skills, both spoken and written.
• Familiarity with identity concepts such as SSO, SAML, OAuth and MFA is a plus.
• Experience with Postman, Git or an integration platform is a plus.
• Interested in retail and curious about the systems behind e-commerce and webshops.

• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 11,50€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For this internship, you need to be available for 5 months starting in February 2027. Please note that your application will only be considered if you are enrolled at a school or university for the full duration of the internship. Additionally, to comply with Dutch law, one of the following must apply:

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
