DAF Trucks NV in Eindhoven, Netherlands, offers an internship to strengthen the correlation between CO2 and BSFC results from certification and development test cells. You will build a prediction model, deliver a report and a validated tool (Python/MATLAB), and present findings to the team.

During the internship you will learn about emissions legislation, test cell measurement, uncertainty analysis and statistical modelling with real industrial data in a heavy-duty engine development setting.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with Python or MATLAB.
• Basic knowledge of statistics.
• Knowledge of combustion engines and basic control engineering is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English. Dutch is a plus.
• Work accurately, analytically and independently.

Aufgaben

• Compare calculation methods and map where their assumptions differ.
• Use test data and uncertainty analysis, such that Monte Carlo simulation, to find out which factors contribute most to the differences.
• Build a prediction model that estimates the expected certification value, including an uncertainty interval, from development test conditions.
• Advise which measurement or procedural improvements would best strengthen the correlation between the two cell types.
• Deliver a report, a validated calculation tool (Python/MATLAB) and a final presentation.
