Job summary

Uniphar | Global Sourcing in Lelystad is seeking an International Purchase Manager for a 40-hour role. You will combine strategic purchasing, supplier management, and market insight to ensure medicines are available where needed.

The position leverages global sourcing, regulatory strength, and agile logistics within the Uniphar network. The role emphasizes supplier relationships, inventory optimization, and business performance analysis to drive turnover and margin growth in a dynamic healthcare

Qualifications

• Minimum HBO level, commerce-focused.
• At least 3 years in a commercial role (international preferred).
• Excellent Dutch and English language skills.
• Strong MS Office knowledge.
• Pharma industry knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and build long-term partnerships.
• Manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels across the portfolio.
• Prepare analyses and reports to support decision-making and grow turnover/margin.

We are BModesto

We import medicines from EU countries where the rates are lower than in the Netherlands at that time. In our warehouse in Lelystad, the products are extensively checked according to the strictest quality standards. We provide the medicines with a Dutch package leaflet and, where possible, repack the medicines to the original Dutch packaging. In this way we ensure optimal availability of medicines and we can provide pharmacies, outpatient clinics and hospitals with the right medicines at the best prices!

This is what you will do

Supplier & Procurement Management

• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and build long-term partnerships;
• Research and evaluate potential new suppliers to determine their added value to the business;
• Place orders with suppliers and proactively follow up on deliveries and order status.

Inventory & Supply Chain

• Ensure optimal stock levels across the assigned product portfolio;
• Provide the Supply Chain Planner(s) with complete and accurate information regarding the financial and logistical settlement.

Business Performance & Product Management

• Prepare analyses and reports to support decision-making;
• Develop and maintain up-to-date product knowledge;
• Actively contribute to the growth of business turnover and margin.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working;
• Communicate proactively with the Department Manager International Trade regarding developments, opportunities, and potential procurement risks;
• Work closely with colleagues across the procurement team and commercial organization to achieve the best possible results.

What to bring

• Minimum HBO working/thinking level, preferably focused on Commerce;
• At least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in a Commercial position (International is an advantage);
• Excellent command of both the Dutch and English language (oral and written);
• Good knowledge and experience with MS Office;
• A result-oriented and enterprising attitude;
• Works independently, is proactive and a real networker;
• Knowledge within the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
