Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a Corporate Finance Intern in Amsterdam to support the Corporate Finance Manager and the Group Control team in building financial models, valuations, and budgeting processes. You will work with executives across Group FP&A, M&A, legal, and tax on post-acquisition activities, audits, and IFRS matters, while helping with covenant reporting for banks and month-end close.

The internship runs Sep/Oct 2026 for 5–6 months, four or five days per week, with a 600 euro monthly allowance

Qualifications

  • Thorough analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of valuation techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and budgeting/forecasting basics.
  • Interest in corporate finance and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of financial models and valuation analyses for strategic decisions.
  • Assist in preparing company share valuations for acquisition-related equity events.
  • Support maintenance of the global capitalization table and investor shareholdings.
  • Assist in the annual consolidated report, audits, and IFRS-based matters.
  • Prepare covenant reporting for banks and assist month-end closing activities.

Job Purpose

As a Corporate Finance Intern, you will support the Corporate Finance Manager and the broader Group Control team across a wide range of strategic financial activities. The Corporate Finance function collaborates closely with executives, top management, and teams such as Group Control, Group FP&A, M&A, legal, and tax to drive key initiatives including post-acquisition processes, audits, bank refinancing, equity transactions, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive financial models and perform in-depth valuation analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing company share valuations for acquisition-related equity rollovers, management buy-ins, and buyouts.
  • Support the maintenance of the global capitalisation table, ensuring accurate representation of investor shareholdings.
  • Assist in the global audit process and the preparation of the consolidated annual report.
  • Help address complex valuation and accounting matters under IFRS, including purchase price allocations (PPA), earn-out reporting, valuation modelling for goodwill impairment testing, and going concern assessments.
  • Prepare covenant reporting for banks.
  • Assist the Group Control team with various accounting and month-end closing activities.

Qualifications
  • Final-year Bachelor’s or Master’s student in finance, business administration, or a related fiel
  • Demonstrable interest in corporate finance
  • Strong attention to detail and diligence to ensure accuracy in valuation models
  • Proficient in MS Excel with strong analytical abilities
  • Organised, curious self-starter who proactively asks questions and takes initiative
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively across multiple organisational levels
  • Being available from September/October 2026 for 4 or 5 days a week for an internship duration of 5-6 months;
