Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation projects which are typically small to medium projects with varying complexity. The position may also work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed and able. Also delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with guidance as needed.

Job Key Responsibilities:

• 1) Installs, programs, test, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with guidance as needed.
• 2) Works closely with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. Refers more complex issues to more experienced colleagues.
• 3) Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
• 4) Provides a variety of installation assistance as directed by project lead.
• 5) Accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Always acts as "our customer's best service provider" thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer's first choice for service. Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observe and practices Convergint Quality Standards.
• 6) Makes suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
• 8) The Electrical Installer position will be responsible for providing basic hand tools as required to perform the daily tasks of the position.
• 9) Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Job Skills Requirements:

• 1) Solid construction skills and understanding of system plans
• 2) Solid ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support)
• 3) Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.
• 4) Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
• 5) Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. work with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.)
• 6) Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• 7) Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Education / Certifications Requirements:

• 1) Education :
• a) High School diploma or equivalent
• 2) Certifications and Licences :
• a) Product-specific certifications helpful
• c) Must have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law
• d) Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Experience Requirements:

• 1) Minimum of two year of previous, relevant field experience preferred
• 2) Basic construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background
• 3) Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation and/or building automation

Industry Knowledge:

Understanding of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in the security industry is essential. This includes knowledge of the compliance landscape, including GDPR, CCPA, or specific regional regulations affecting security systems.

This role is integral in bridging the gap between technical teams, project managers, and clients, ensuring that complex security solutions are delivered effectively and meet the highest standards of quality and safety
