Job summary

JDE Peet’s, the world’s leading pure-play coffee company, is seeking an Impact Specialist to advance sustainability risk modelling, governance and reporting. You will combine advanced analytics, GIS, and satellite data to inform decision-making and external disclosures, acting as product owner for the corporate emissions reporting platform and delivering dashboards and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 2–4 years’ experience in sustainability analytics, data science, environmental modelling or quantitative risk assessment.
• Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing and sustainability regulations; experience with sustainability reporting systems (e.g. Sphera) and data visualisation is preferred.
• Substantive understanding of at least two of: deforestation drivers and land-use change; human rights and labour risk in agricultural supply chains; climate hazard and projection data; coffee agronomy and production systems.
• Working knowledge of geospatial and remote sensing fundamentals and tools; analytical thinking, collaboration, and communication are essential.

• Maintain, defend and improve sustainability risk models covering environmental and human rights risks across the value chain.
• Contribute to design and improvement of impact assessment methodologies and indicators.
• Support spatial analysis using satellite imagery and geospatial datasets to assess environmental impacts.
• Translate analytical outputs into meaningful impact assessments to support prioritisation and disclosures.
• Act as product owner for the emissions reporting platform (Sphera) while improving data quality and controls.
• Develop dashboards, visualisations, and technical documentation.

The Impact Specialist supports the development of JDE Peet’s impact measurement, sustainability risk assessment and environmental reporting capabilities. The role combines advanced analytics, geospatial data, impact assessment and digital solutions to enable robust sustainability decision-making, regulatory compliance and transparent external reporting. It maintains and continuously improves sustainability risk models covering environmental and human rights risks across the value chain. The role supports impact assessment methodologies and coordinates corporate emissions reporting systems. It translates complex technical analyses into actionable business insights.

• Maintain, defend and continuously improve sustainability risk models covering environmental and human rights risks across the value chain.
• Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of impact assessment methodologies, indicators, weighting approaches and validation processes.
• Support spatial analysis using satellite imagery, geospatial datasets and supply chain information to assess deforestation, land use change, crop risk and other environmental impacts.
• Translate analytical outputs into meaningful impact assessments to support prioritisation, due diligence and external disclosures.
• Act as product owner for the corporate emissions reporting platform (Sphera), while improving data quality, automation, documentation and internal controls across sustainability reporting and analytics processes.
• Develop dashboards, visualisations, presentations and technical documentation.

For this role as an Impact Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, with 2–4 years’ experience in sustainability‑related analytics, data science, environmental modelling or quantitative risk assessment.
• Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing and sustainability regulations (EUDR, CSRD/CSDDD); experience with sustainability reporting systems (e.g. Sphera) and data visualisation is preferred.
• Substantive understanding of at least two of: deforestation drivers and land‑use change; human rights and labour risk in agricultural supply chains; climate hazard and projection data; coffee agronomy and production systems.
• Working knowledge of geospatial and remote sensing fundamentals and tools; depth is not required, but competence and willingness to develop is. Analytical thinking; proactive; problem solving; collaboration; business partnering; continuous improvement; ownership & accountability; learning agility; clear communication; results orientation.
