Job summary

MediaLab, a Netherlands-based SaaS platform for media assets, is seeking a developer to maintain and extend the applications behind its B2B SaaS platform. The team operates across AWS, Azure and hybrid environments from Amsterdam, offering ownership and responsibility in a compact, professional setting.

You will build features across the SaaS platform, participate in architectural decisions, work with customers to test implementations, review code and debug production issues to ensure

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a developer in application development.
• PHP: experience with modern PHP and OOP.
• JavaScript/TypeScript: experience with modern JS/TS.
• Development tools: Git, Composer, Webpack, Docker, CI/CD.
• Quality mindset: attention to detail and maintainable code.
• Teamwork: collaborate to ship features.
• Communication: communicate progress and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve features across the MediaLab SaaS platform, frontend and backend.
• Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions.
• Work with customers or stakeholders to understand requirements and test implementations.
• Review code and test merge requests from developers.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues to keep the platform stable.
• Improve reliability, scalability and maintainability of core systems.
• Apply a security-first and privacy-focused mindset to protect data.
• Explore AI-assisted media workflows such as metadata extraction and face detection.
