Job summary

Savoy Hotel Rotterdam, part of Leonardo Hotels Benelux, offers a hands-on internship across all hotel departments. As the first contact for guests you will assist with self-check-in, point them to local attractions, and help in the breakfast shift.

You will gain experience at reception, during breakfast service, and with guest relations, learning how a hotel operates and delivering excellent service. This traineeship supports teamwork, flexibility, and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Friendly, hospitable attitude and easy to get along with.

• Flexible and able to work alternating shifts.
• Team oriented but able to work independently.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; English preferred.
• Internship duration 5-6 months.

What will you be doing?

You are the first contact for our guests and provide them with all the information they need. You will help guests with the self-check in, explain where they can find the best museums and what else is going on in the city. The next day you are up early, because you help out in the breakfast shift. You make sure the breakfast buffet is ready, set tables and clear them. Afterwards you go to the reception desk and guests will thank you at check out for your friendly service. As a trainee all-round, not one day is the same at our hotel. And that's what makes your internship so much fun! You enjoy the enthusiasm of the guests and do everything to provide them with excellent service. Because if you are happy, so are your guests!

Who are we?

Savoy Hotel Rotterdam is part of Leonardo Hotels and was completely renovated in April 2019. The hotel now offers 95 luxurious hotel rooms and a cool Piet le Blanc Suite where you can play games, watch movies or listen to music. The lobby has a cozy open space where you can go for breakfast, lunch, drink coffee and in the evening get some work done or catch up with colleagues or friends over a drink or snack.

Job Requirements

WHO ARE YOU?

• You are easy to get along with and have a friendly, hospitable attitude.
• You can deal with stress and always work detailed.
• You are flexible.
• You enjoy working in a team but can also work independently.
• You are following a relevant MBO (Vocational study) training level 1-4 or HBO (Bachelor)
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• Good command of English is preferred.
• Alternating shifts are great for you.
• You are available to do internship for 5-6 months

To be considered for this role, applicants must be an EU citizen or hold a valid work permit for the Netherlands.

• As a student, you will receive an internship allowance based on €750 gross per month (full‑time), consisting of €670 internship compensation and €80 expense allowance. We use variable payment periods of 4 or 5 weeks, depending on the number of days and hours worked — meaning one month you may receive slightly less and another month slightly more.
