Position Summary
A leading European data centre delivery partner is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join its expanding team. This is a site‑based position in Amsterdam, supporting the construction of large‑scale turnkey data centre projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site, ensuring the safe delivery of mission‑critical projects across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Management Team and the Site Health & Safety Lead in maintaining and improving safety standards.
- Ensure full compliance with the company’s Safety Management System and all relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation.
- Review and assess method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
- Ensure all project execution and safety procedures are implemented effectively on site.
- Promote good safety practices and maintain a proactive approach to health and safety management.
- Conduct ongoing COSHH assessments and manage the control of hazardous substances.
- Carry out regular site audits and inspections, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and ensure these are available for project activities, tools, and equipment.
- Support subcontractors in adhering to project and company EHS policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and maintain site induction and safety training for all personnel.
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks as required.
- Assist with or conduct accident investigations and ensure timely communication of findings to project management.
- Ensure welfare and hygiene facilities are available, well‑maintained, and compliant with project standards.
- Participate in daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings.
- Support waste reduction and recycling initiatives in line with company environmental policies.
Requirements
- Relevant third‑level qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working on large construction sites (data centre experience desirable).
- Strong knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple EHS responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to operate independently or as part of a team.
