Job summary

The EMA European Medicines Agency in Amsterdam is recruiting a Head of Department: Veterinary Evaluation and Innovation Department (V-EI). You will provide scientific leadership across the department, manage operations and strategy, and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance regulatory science in veterinary medicines.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and management experience in a complex regulatory setting.
• Experience in veterinary and/or human medicines product development and lifecycle management.
• Extensive knowledge of EU veterinary medicines regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership for the Department and shape regulatory science and innovation.
• Manage operations, staff and resources across two services (pharmaceuticals and biologicals).
• Set the Department strategy aligned with Agency priorities and supervise performance indicators.
• Coach Heads of Service and teams to deliver results and support career development.
• Translate strategic priorities into departmental plans and cross‑functional collaboration.
