Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com seeks a senior Corporate and M&A lawyer to lead the legal team, drive governance, and shape corporate strategy across multiple jurisdictions.

You will manage entity governance, lead cross‑border transactions, and advance automation and AI to streamline processes while partnering with senior stakeholders.

Amsterdam-based with global responsibilities and visibility at board level in a fast-paced, international environment.

About this role

This role supports JET's structural and inorganic growth agenda by improving legal execution on transactions and related corporate matters. It helps leadership move through complex projects with stronger governance, clearer risk management and more reliable implementation.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Lead and develop a Corporate and M&A legal team, combining strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, with corporate and governance work forming the core of the role.
• Manage the legal health of the group's holding and operating entities across jurisdictions, including entity governance, corporate approvals and resolutions, and board and shareholder matters.
• Lead corporate reorganisations, intra‑group arrangements, legal‑entity rationalisation and general corporate advisory across the group.
• Develop and maintain group governance frameworks, standards, templates and playbooks that keep corporate execution consistent across markets.
• Lead the adoption of automation and AI to streamline governance, corporate resolutions, entity management and other recurring corporate processes.
• Lead legal delivery on M&A and strategic transactions, cross‑border acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, business‑line expansions and entity closures, across structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, signing and integration.
• Advise on transaction strategy, risk allocation and merger-control and clearance considerations, coordinating external counsel and the competition team.

What will you bring to the team?

• Qualified lawyer with strong post‑qualification experience across both corporate law and M&A, with genuine depth in corporate and governance work, comfortable leading strategy while remaining hands‑on in a small team, is required.
• Experience managing holding and operating entities, corporate governance, board and shareholder matters and general corporate legal work across multiple jurisdictions is required.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross‑border M&A, divestments, joint ventures, business‑line expansions and entity closures is required.
• Familiarity with merger‑control and regulatory clearance processes for transactions is required.
• Appetite and ability to drive automation and AI adoption to streamline governance and recurring corporate processes is required.
• Strong project management, drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with senior and external audiences are required.
• Experience in an international marketplace or platform is preferred.
