As Group Financial Controller within the Aalberts Group Control department, you strengthen group-wide financial governance and ensure consistent, high-quality financial reporting & control across the group. You contribute to the development of a robust internal control framework, act as an IFRS subject-matter expert for group wide topics and counterpart to external group auditors, enabling “on time, in full” reporting and a robust control environment throughout the group. You will report directly to the Group Controller and collaborate closely with the head-office team as well as with the business.
Your mission in this role (pragmatic, hands‑on, group-wide):
- strengthen the group internal financial control framework by enhancing risk assessments, minimum control standards, and practical guidance that works in the business.
- own group-wide IFRS topics as subject‑matter expert: develop, update, and socialize IFRS position papers and accounting guidance for complex or non‑routine transactions.
- maintain and evolve the Group IFRS Accounting Manual, ensuring consistent interpretation and application across entities and supporting finance teams with clear, pragmatic guidance.
- support coordination of the group external audit (planning, evidence requests, issue management and closure).
- contribute to annual report and related disclosures by ensuring accounting positions, control evidence and audit documentation are complete and aligned.
- drive continuous improvement and participate in projects on standardization, automation and control framework roll‑out.
- build capability through the Aalberts Finance Academy: design and deliver training on IFRS, policies, internal controls, and close discipline to uplift finance team.
This role has group-wide exposure and significant interaction with senior stakeholders.
Functie eisen
You hold a Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent); a post‑master qualification (RA/CPA/RC/EMFC) is a plus. You bring 6–8+ years of experience in financial control, group reporting and/or external audit in an international environment. You have strong knowledge of IFRS and solid understanding of consolidation and group reporting concepts.
The role requires a pragmatic, proactive approach and end‑to‑end ownership of key responsibilities.
