Job summary

XD Connects B.V. is building a European communications powerhouse by uniting Solo, Solo Paris and midocean under one brand. The role leads internal communication from ground up, shaping the employee experience across Europe.

You will partner with HR and leadership to translate strategy into engaging stories, manage channels, and drive two-way listening. You will guide managers to communicate with confidence and impact across cultures.

Qualifications

• Built internal communication and/or employee engagement programs, ideally in a scale-up, PE-backed or multi-country environment.
• Guided people through change (merger, restructuring or rebranding) and kept them informed and onboard.
• Able to work across cultures and languages in Europe and with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build internal communication strategy from scratch for multiple brands.
• Plan and shape townhalls, milestone updates and major announcements.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership to translate milestones into clear stories.
• Set up listening mechanisms (pulse checks, listening sessions) to drive action.
• Run channels (intranet, newsletters, townhalls, leadership toolkits) and ensure usage.
• coach and support people managers to communicate with confidence.

Why this role exists

You are the voice that brings Solo together. You turn strategy, change and leadership messages into communication every colleague understands. And you help three companies become one, with a shared identity people are proud of.

What you will do

You build our internal communication strategy from scratch, shaping how we talk to each other at every level: from leadership cascades and organization-wide updates to communication tailored to specific teams and functions. When the big moments come, such as townhalls, milestone updates and major announcements, you are the one who plans them, shapes the content and makes sure they land.

Working closely with HR and leadership, you turn strategic milestones into clear, honest stories that leaders and employees can relate to. But communication is never one-way. You set up how we listen, through pulse checks and listening sessions, and you make sure what we hear turns into real action.

You play a central role in bringing three former companies together into one culture and one shared employee experience under the Solo brand. Together with the HR team, you make sure people-related messages and change efforts reinforce each other. You run our channels, from the intranet and newsletters to townhalls and leadership toolkits, and make sure people actually use them. And because the most important conversations happen in teams, you coach and support our people managers to bring every message home with confidence.

Who you are

• You have built internal communication and/or employee engagement, ideally in a scale-up, private equity-backed or multi-country environment
• You have guided people through change, whether a merger, restructuring or rebranding, and know how to keep them informed and on board
• You thrive across cultures and languages, and feel at home working with colleagues across Europe
• You work confidently with executive leadership and know how to bring stakeholders along
• You write and speak excellent English; French and/or Dutch is a real plus
• You use AI as a natural part of your work, not just occasionally. You use it to create and refine content, analyse survey feedback, personalise communication at scale and speed up planning and production
• You are a builder, not a maintainer
