Job summary

Avery Dennison's Global Procurement function is seeking a Senior Global Category Manager based in the Netherlands to drive strategic sourcing for key paper sub-segments and lead a cross-regional procurement community.

Reporting to the VP of Procurement, Global Paper, you will balance day-to-day execution with long-range strategy, optimize material costs, and ensure governance across global suppliers, with hybrid work from the European HQ in Oegstgeest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in strategic sourcing, purchasing, or category management with direct accountability for material cost results.
• 5+ years of managerial/leadership experience within a complex global matrix organization.
• English and Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, document, and execute multi-year global sourcing strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
• Lead end-to-end tendering (RFx) and direct negotiations for complex commercial agreements.
• Cultivate strategic supplier partnerships, mitigate supply chain risks, and optimize Best Cost Country sourcing.
• Foster a unified One Global Materials Group mindset across a global matrix organization.
• Manage AOP forecasting, cost modeling, and index management with sustainability compliance.
