Job summary

MSF/ Artsen zonder Grenzen seeks an Operations Advisor based in Amsterdam to support country programme management and HQ coordination. The role involves advising senior mission leaders, ensuring policy adherence, and facilitating cross-team collaboration across the portfolio.

Travel will be approximately 15-20% to country programmes. A Dutch employment contract is offered with a 40-hour work week and a salary range of €4,875 to €6,711 gross per month, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience providing guidance to mission heads and country programme management.
• Familiarity with MSF policy and procedures at country and HQ levels.
• Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• Advise Heads of Mission and country programme management on tactical decisions.
• Safeguard organizational policies while guiding project planning and control cycles.
• Coach Heads of Missions and point teams to sources for feedback and capacity building.
• Manage portfolio daily, identifying risks, emergencies, security matters, or donor requirements.
• Support HR policies in recruitment, debriefings, training and development.
• Track day-to-day financial issues with institutional donors and partners.
• Coordinate meetings between head office staff and Operations Manager.
• Assist in administrative matters and implement control cycles.
